I raised the question of Timothy's age with my eldest daughter (23) who said she had always pictured him in his late 20s. She made the same comment someone brought up in this forum -- we are so used now to kids going to school and then college/university that we forget that not long ago most were tossed into the world at 16 or even 14, and that Timothy could have accumulated a lot of experience by 25.
